A little treasure I found today in an old journal:
Holly is having a swim party with her primary class—I’m official lifeguard over these six year olds, and I am surprised when all the sisters get in the pool to play with the children. I sit through the party and marvel at the interaction of my daughters. They playfully play with one another, wrestling and dunking with laughter and strength. The seven year old plays barnacle onto her sister, latching on and the 18 yo can’t escape her grip. I literally sit at the side of the pool with a smile of awe at the whole day and come away convinced—the greatest joy a parent can have is to see all her children at love ad peace with one another.
