This is a strange and silly hypothesis. But every computer controlled device in our home has rebelled against Tony.
The Christmas light app, the remote control heater app, the air conditioning app. If he arm wrestled the television, the cable service, the internet dependence, the live streaming, he would be pinned every time.
Even stranger is that Tony is a pioneer in the artificial intelligence world takeover. He received his PHD back in 1986 when neural networking was a relatively new entity of computer science.
Thus, because of his connection to artificial intelligence, his many years researching, computing, teaching, mentoring, he expects it to be better than it is.
But it isn't and it won't be. Ever. Cars have been around since the late 1800s. Imagine how many times Carl Benz's car broke down on him...how many times Henry Ford kicked his tires.
It's like having children. Of course they're supposed to obey you, but do they? No, no, no. It's like combing a cow lick on one's own head of hair. Should it lay down on your head in conformity? It should but no, no, no. It's like hitting that forehand on the tennis court. You've practiced, and practiced and it should go gently into the opponent's back hand court. Does it? No, no, no.
I would really like to buy a blueberry farm in the deep woods. There would be cool streams and fertile dirt. Sunshine would land perfectly between the peach trees that ring around the berry fields. The farmhouse would be simple. Chickens would peck about eating the insects and fertilizing the patch. A happy cow would give milk. We would peddle our bikes to the town three miles away when we needed services. Our home would be free of apps and swimming pools and computerized dishwashers.
And nothing ever would go wrong...
